Vitamin E is the main fat-soluble antioxidant in the body. In the cells vitamin E prevents the propagation of free radicals. It enhances the body’s ability to cleanse the system of free radicals and eliminate toxins. It also has a beneficial effect on healing scar tissue, treating arteriosclerosis and enhancing brain function. Research has focused on effects of isolated chemical ingredients of Vitamin E, but the isolated ingredients while showing some good effects are not proving to work as well as the whole vitamin, administered in low doses. Some researchers speculate this is because vitamin E cooperates with and works in concert with other nutrients.
