Learn more about insomnia.
Researchers evaluated results of treating 106 patients who suffered from various forms of insomnia with a combination
of vitamin B12, bright light, chronotherapy and/or hypnotism. 32% of the patients experienced moderate to
marked improvement. This study did not evaluate use of B12 alone, and other research has suggested that B12 alone does not
bring about statistically significant improvements.
Nonetheless, since B12 supports the nervous system, it may well be that a B12 deficiency contributes to insomnia as a secondary
condition.
